The Association came into existence in the year 1975. The Government of West Bengal constituted a three-tier cadre service in 1971 comprising:
* Higher Audit & Accounts Service
* State Audit & Accounts Service
* Junior Audit & Accounts Service
Recruitment to these services commenced in 1973.
Over the years, significant structural reforms were undertaken in the service framework. All posts earmarked for the Higher Audit & Accounts Service were subsequently
encadred into the unified West Bengal Audit & Accounts Service. Later, in 2001, the West Bengal Junior Audit & Accounts Service was also merged with the West Bengal
Audit & Accounts Service. As a result, there is now a single unified Audit & Accounts Service in the State of West Bengal.
Members of this Association have consistently played a vital role in the fields of audit, accounts, financial administration, and management of the State Government’s
financial activities. The Association remains committed to safeguarding the interests of its members while contributing to efficient, transparent, and accountable
financial governance in the State.
